12th Greek Maritime Golf Event
Twelfth edition of the golf tournament of the Greek and international maritime community, played at Costa Navarino on The Dunes Course, the 18-hole signature course of the Messenian estate. For three days, shipowning executives, insurers, registries and shipyards meet on the links for a gathering that is as much a tournament as an informal congress of Greek shipping. Each year the tournament pairs a charitable initiative with its closing ceremony.

The turnkey stay
Three days in September when the elite of Greek and international shipping leaves the boardrooms for the fairways of the Dunes Course. Greece's first signature course, designed by Bernhard Langer with European Golf Design and open since 2010, this par 71 of 6,581 yards unfolds right beside The Romanos and the Westin: links facing the Ionian Sea near the shore, then olive groves and citrus orchards as you climb inland along the Sellas river. Below opens the Bay of Navarino, one of the largest natural harbours in the Mediterranean, where the fleets sunk in the 1827 battle still rest: the most fitting setting there is for a tournament born of the maritime world. Deals are struck on the green as much as at the table, between Navarino Dunes beach and the terraces opening onto the bay.

- Barbouni Restaurant — The beachside institution of Navarino Dunes, on the very estate hosting the tournament, attached to The Romanos. Mediterranean seafood cuisine: freshly caught fish and house specialities, feet in the sand facing the Ionian Sea. Note that this is a lunch venue: open daily from 11:00 to 17:30 only — to slot in between two rounds, not for dinner.
- The Private Kitchen, Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino — The chef's table of the Mandarin Oriental, at Navarino Bay: a counter facing the open kitchen, where chef Bertrand Valegeas and his brigade run the service before your eyes. A bespoke menu built on exceptional local produce from the gardens and farms of Messenia. Dinner only on Saturday and Sunday, from 19:30 — to be booked well in advance, as the number of covers is confidential.

- Navarino Yachting, affrètement privé dans la baie de Navarino — The natural extension of a maritime tournament: a private cruise departing from Pylos, in the historic waters of the Bay of Navarino, scene of the 1827 battle. A company based in Pylos and active since 2012, offering half-day or full-day outings. A fleet of seven vessels: motor yachts M/Y Nestor, Nilefs and Sorokos, sailing yacht S/Y Mykines, catamaran S/Y Aria and two speedboats. Tailor-made itineraries to Sfaktiria, Voidokilia, Methoni, Sapientza, Foinikounda or the island of Proti. Skipper, fuel, VAT, wines and a snack included; several boats may be chartered for a group.
