The turnkey stay
From 4 to 13 September 2026, Deauville rolls out its red carpet for the 52nd edition of the American Film Festival, presided over this year by Roschdy Zem. At the Centre International de Deauville, set between the famous Planches boardwalk and the English Channel, some one hundred screenings set Normandy's Hollywood heart beating, from premieres at the CID to evenings at the Casino Barrière. Here, every beach cabin bears the name of a star who came before you: all that remains is to write your own.
Where to stay
- Hôtel Barrière Le Royal Deauville — The 1913 palace hotel overlooking the beach directly, a few minutes' walk from the CID and the red carpet. Sea views from most of the 189 rooms and 29 suites, a Biologique Recherche spa, a private outdoor pool and the bistronomic cuisine of Côté Royal beneath its crystal chandelier.
- Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy Deauville — The iconic half-timbered palace hotel of 1912, a few metres from the Planches and a short walk from the CID. A spa with pool, sauna and hammam, treatments in collaboration with Biologique Recherche and Algologie, and the brasserie La Belle Époque, famed for its iconic Sunday brunch.
Where to dine
- Maximin Hellio — A Michelin-starred restaurant — first star awarded in 2017, and it still crowns the house. Chef Maximin Hellio celebrates Norman produce, between the Pays d'Auge and the Côte Fleurie, at 64 rue Gambetta, in the very heart of Deauville, a few minutes' walk from the CID.
- L'Essentiel — A restaurant distinguished by the Michelin Guide, at 29 rue Mirabeau, in the heart of Deauville and steps from the Planches. Mi-Ra and Charles Thuillant compose a creative cuisine of many flavours, rooted in the Norman terroir.
What to experience
- Transfert en hélicoptère privé Paris, Deauville avec AeroAffaires — Departure from the private terminal of the Paris Issy-les-Moulineaux heliport, around one hour's flight with champagne aboard an Airbus H135/H145 or Bell 429, with landing possible at the Hôtel du Golf Barrière, at La Ferme Saint Siméon or at Deauville-Normandie airport. An air charter broker founded in Paris in 1991.
- Thalasso Deauville Algotherm — The thalassotherapy institute at 3 rue Sem, steps from the beach and the Planches: treatments and massages with marine actives by Algotherm, from the signature massage to bespoke programmes — the perfect interlude between two screenings at the CID.
