The turnkey stay
On 14 August 2026, from noon to 7 pm, Nikki Beach Marbella blows out 23 candles with Disco del Sol: a full afternoon when the sands of Elviria dress up in golden tones, mirrors and shimmering silhouettes, to remixes inspired by the late 1970s. On this beach at kilometre 192 of the Carretera de Cádiz, open since 2003, the party runs on Andalusian time — pool and sun loungers facing the Mediterranean, cuisine by executive chef Santiago Zucchi, signature cocktails and entertainment throughout the day. The third chapter in the "Timeless Joy of Celebration" series, it is the rendezvous where the Costa del Sol dances in full sunshine, before heading back up to the Milla de Oro after dark.
Where to stay
- Don Carlos Marbella — The very address of the event: Nikki Beach occupies the Don Carlos beach, in Elviria (Av. Zurita, s/n, 29604 Marbella), at kilometre 192 of the Carretera de Cádiz. A 5-star seafront resort opened in 1969 and reopened in 2025 after a complete renovation: 20,000 m² of gardens running down to the sand, the Don Carlos Spa, the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center, several in-house restaurants (Los Naranjos, Sol y Sombra, Oasis Kitchen, Algrano, Manero Marbella) and two beach clubs, Nikki Beach and Lucia Marbella. Step out of your room and you are already at the party.
- Puente Romano Marbella — Marbella's benchmark palace hotel, on the Milla de Oro (Bulevar Príncipe Alfonso von Hohenlohe, s/n, 29602 Marbella), a member of the Leading Hotels of the World — west of Marbella, so at the opposite end from Elviria: expect a proper car transfer, this is not the beach's own hotel. An Andalusian village by the sea with more than twenty restaurants — Nobu, COYA, Cipriani, La Petite Maison, Sea Grill —, the Six Senses Spa and its legendary tennis club. The choice for those who want to extend the disco day with a night on La Plaza.
Where to dine
- Skina — Two Michelin stars (the first in 2008, the second since 2019), on the edge of Marbella's casco antiguo, Avda. Cánovas del Castillo, 9. The house of sommelier Marcos Granda, with chef Mario Cachinero in the kitchen: contemporary Andalusian haute cuisine and one of the finest food-and-wine pairings in the region. Dinner service only, Monday to Saturday, a tiny dining room: booking essential well before 14 August.
- Messina — One Michelin star in the 2026 guide, avenida Severo Ochoa 12, in town. Opened in 2003 by Argentine chef Mauricio Giovanini, starred without interruption since 2016: a focus on liquid essences and pure juices, between European and Latin American inspirations; his wife Pía Ninci runs the dining room and the cellar. A chef's table for four guests facing the open kitchen, with dishes reserved for those seats.
What to experience
- Vol privé en hélicoptère, HeliAir Marbella — An operator established in Marbella since 1988. Heliport at Carretera de Istán km 2, in Puerto Banús, next to the Manolo Santana Racquet Club (offices at avenida Ricardo Soriano 68). VIP transfers, private flights and flyovers of Puerto Banús, Nueva Andalucía, San Pedro, La Concha and Sierra Blanca, up to the Ronda excursion with wine tasting — aboard Bell 505, EC120 and R44. The most beautiful way to arrive on the coast, or to extend the afternoon with an aerial view over the Mediterranean.
- Journée en yacht au départ de Puerto Banús, Marbella Boat Charter — A charter company based in Puerto Banús (Edificio de Levante 10-B, 29660): motor yachts, sailing boats, fishing boats and vessels for groups, from two hours to a full day, with an English-speaking skipper who knows the waters of the Costa del Sol included, fuel and drinks covered. Departures also possible from Marbella, Estepona or Sotogrande, with open-sea outings or a course set for Sotogrande and Gibraltar — perfect the day before or after Disco del Sol.
