Gala Aniversario Malba — 25 años
The Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires, founded in 2001 by Eduardo F. Costantini, marks its twenty-fifth anniversary with an international gala dinner. The evening opens at 7:30 pm with a cocktail and the pre-opening of the new galleries: a wholly new hang of the Colección Malba-Costantini and the exhibition "Viva Frida", co-organised with the Semana de la Alta Costura Argentina and the Museo Frida Kahlo de México. The honorary committee brings together some of the world's greatest collectors.

The turnkey stay
On Thursday 17 September 2026, Malba, founded by Eduardo F. Costantini in 2001, celebrates 25 years with a landmark evening on Avenida Figueroa Alcorta: cocktail and pre-opening of the new exhibitions at 7:30 pm, gala dinner at 9 pm inside the museum. Guests are the first to see, three days before the public opening, "Viva Frida" — the first Frida Kahlo exhibition in South America, organised by the Semana de la Alta Costura Argentina (SAC) and the Museo Frida Kahlo de México, directed by Elina Costantini and curated by Circe Henestrosa — as well as a new presentation of the Colección Malba-Costantini spread across several galleries. Funds raised will support the museum's expansion beneath Plaza Perú, and the festivities continue from 18 to 21 September. A week to live in Palermo at the pace of Latin American art.

- Palacio Duhau, Park Hyatt Buenos Aires — Avenida Alvear 1661, in Recoleta, about 2 km from Malba (under ten minutes by car). A 1930s mansion linked to a contemporary tower: 165 rooms and suites, awarded a MICHELIN Key. Duhau Restaurante & Vinoteca and the Oak Bar are local institutions, and the MICHELIN Guide describes its spa as the largest in the city, with an indoor pool of about 25 metres and a long treatment menu.
- Alvear Palace Hotel — Avenida Alvear 1891, in the heart of Recoleta, about 2 km from Malba (under ten minutes by car). A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, with 207 French-style rooms and suites, plus contemporary Lounge Suites on the 10th and 11th floors. Dining at L'Orangerie, the contemporary steakhouse Alvear Grill, the Lobby Bar open since 1932, Café Alvear and the new rooftop Alvear Roof Bar overlooking Recoleta. Spa with saunas, steam baths, pressure showers, jacuzzi and relaxation rooms; heated indoor pool and Pool Bar on the 11th floor. Walking distance from the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.
Where to dine
- Aramburu — Two stars in the MICHELIN Guide — the only table in Argentina at this level. Since 2007 chef Gonzalo Aramburu has served a single seasonal tasting menu in several acts, before dessert, coffee and a cocktail in the adjoining lounge. At Vicente López 1661, entered through the Pasaje del Correo in Recoleta, about 2 km from Malba. A member of Relais & Châteaux; the restaurant handles its own bookings, to be made well in advance.
- Parrilla Don Julio — One MICHELIN star, plus a Green Star for its regenerative farming. The institution of Argentine beef, founded by Pablo Rivero: Hereford and Aberdeen Angus cattle raised at Comarca Don Julio, the restaurant's own farm 90 km from Buenos Aires, in-house dry-ageing and a cellar focused on Argentine wines. At the corner of Guatemala 4699 and Gurruchaga, in Palermo Viejo, about ten minutes from the museum. Open daily for two services, 11:30 am to 4 pm and 7 pm to 1 am; book weeks ahead.
What to experience
- Visite guidée du Teatro Colón — One of the largest opera houses in the world, about twenty minutes by car from Malba. A 50-minute route through the Foyer, the Galería de Bustos, the Salón Dorado and the main auditorium, in groups limited to 40 people. Tours daily, departing every fifteen minutes from 10 am to 4:45 pm in Spanish; in English at 11 am, noon, 1 pm and 3 pm, in Portuguese at 11:45 am and 4 pm. Theatre box office, Tucumán 1171, or online — the ideal morning before the gala dinner.
- Programmation des 25 ans du Malba (18 au 21 septembre) — After the gala on the 17th, the museum extends the anniversary over four days with an international, multidisciplinary programme open to all: a Latin American seminar, music on the Avenida Figueroa Alcorta esplanade, screenings, workshops and special activities devised by every team in the museum. The natural continuation of the gala evening, on site, without leaving Palermo.
