How to get in
Access to the Cannes Film Festival is strictly reserved for film industry professionals and accredited press. The official accreditation portal (festival-cannes.com/en/take-part/accreditations/) opens each year in early February for the Professionals, Press (print/digital and audiovisual) and Film Market categories, on presentation of proof of activity (professional card, contract, assignment letter); a mandatory environmental contribution of €20 excl. tax per person applies to every accreditation. No tickets are sold to the general public for the official evening screenings: seats go through online ticketing reserved solely for accredited attendees, and red-carpet invitations come from the distributors and producers of the selected films, who receive an allocation of seats to distribute among the film's team, partners and guests, an industry-internal mechanism, with no public named contact to approach.
The Marché du Film (marchedufilm.com), held alongside the Festival, issues paid professional badges; 2027 rates and registration dates remain to be confirmed on marchedufilm.com/registration (for reference, 2026 registration ran from 2 February to 27 April, with a price increase past a cutoff date). Accommodation in Cannes during the Festival's 12 days must be booked well in advance (6 to 12 months): Croisette hotel rates rise three- to five-fold over the period. For the general public, only certain daytime screenings linked to the parallel sections are more accessible to accredited attendees; no official seats are sold directly to the public for the gala evenings.
