On 30 September 2026, the New York Philharmonic opens the Dudamel era: a singular inaugural gala at the entirely reimagined David Geffen Hall, where the maestro officially takes the helm of a house once led by Mahler, Toscanini and Bernstein. The evening honours patrons Oscar L. Tang and Peter W. May, the architects of the hall's rebirth — a reception before the concert, a formal dinner after the final note. It is, quite simply, the most coveted evening of the New York autumn season, and the whole of Lincoln Center serves as its setting. You stay at Columbus Circle, a few minutes' walk away, and experience New York on a par with the occasion.

- Mandarin Oriental, New York — On the upper floors of the Deutsche Bank Center, on Columbus Circle — about a ten-minute walk from David Geffen Hall. Spectacular views over Central Park and the skyline from the rooms, and a spa counted among the most beautiful in Manhattan: the natural base camp for the gala.
- Park Hyatt New York — On 57th Street, facing Carnegie Hall, designed by Christian de Portzamparc — rooms among the largest in the city. The Spa Nalai (1 200 m² on the 25th floor) holds a salt-water pool whose underwater speakers play a soundtrack composed by Carnegie Hall for the hotel: the ideal prelude to Dudamel, some ten minutes from Lincoln Center.

- Jean-Georges — Jean-Georges Vongerichten, two Michelin stars, at 1 Central Park West — a few minutes' walk from David Geffen Hall. French technique and accents from around the world, facing the entrance to the park: the pre-gala lunch par excellence.
What to experience
- Transfert héliporté BLADE — JFK to Manhattan in about five minutes of flying time, a private lounge on stilts at the West 30th Street Heliport and a connecting car orchestrated between the helipad and the terminal: the arrival that sets the tone for the evening.
