Geneva's week of jewels

Every autumn, the great auction houses converge on Lake Geneva: tiaras, coloured diamonds and royal provenances go on public view for several days before passing under the hammer. It is the most accessible door into high jewellery: the previews of the lots are open, often free of charge.
