The official website states that no point of sale exists other than the Opernball-Büro of the Wiener Staatsoper. Several paid formats exist for the ball on Thursday, February 4, 2027 (doors at 8:15 pm, opening at 10 pm, end at 5 am). Individual entry tickets at €435 (including a €35 solidarity contribution, maximum 4 per person, with no seat) are allocated by lottery: the registration window for 2027 ran from June 1 to June 5, 2026 and is closed. Table seats, at €665 per person with entry ticket included (maximum 6 per person, choice of room), went on sale on June 24, 2026 at 10 am. Boxes range from €15,000 (single stage box or stage table) to €19,000 (premium), €25,000 (double stage box), and €27,000 (tier box); membership of the Staatsoper's Freundeskreis (from €8,250 to €33,000) carries a right of first refusal on these boxes. Spectator tickets also exist, from €110 to €290. No free invitation is published: the only non-commercial route is applying to the opening committee, free on opernball.at until September 16, 2026, couples only, aged between 18 and 27 on the day of the ball, left-turning waltz required, with an audition followed by mandatory rehearsals on January 30 and 31, 2027.
