The acronym comes from the English Very Important Client. In fashion houses, it designates the inner circle of clients whose purchase history and loyalty earn the house's special attentions, starting with invitations to its events. It is the route into the shows for those who are neither journalists nor professional buyers. At Paris Fashion Week (Spring-Summer 2027 ready-to-wear, from 28 September to 6 October 2026), the site's access guides list four routes into the shows on the official calendar: FHCM-accredited press, registered professional buyers, VIC clients and friends of the house. The status is not requested, it is built: become a client of a house, stay loyal to one and the same sales advisor in boutique and express the wish to be invited; a significant purchase history qualifies you for VIC status, which opens show invitations and the front row. The process costs nothing in itself: no seat at a show can be bought, it is the relationship that grants access. Each house manages its VIC circle through its client services, in liaison with its press office, and invites by name. The detailed calendar, show by show, is published in early September.
