Fuorisalone 2027, Milano Design Week
🗓 Add to my calendarThe urban, free-of-charge side of Milano Design Week: while the Salone takes place at Rho, maisons, galleries and young studios take over the palazzi, courtyards and showrooms of Brera, Tortona and 5vie. A separate listing from the Salone, not a duplicate: one is a paid trade fair, the other a free itinerary through the city. The 2027 edition promises to be dense, carried by the return of Euroluce.
How to get in
The Fuorisalone has no single point of entry: it is a giant urban trail, and each brand installation manages its own invitations. For the parties and previews hosted by houses (Prada, Loro Piana, Bottega Veneta, Moooi, etc.), you must contact the press or public relations department of each organising brand directly, generally several weeks in advance. For media accreditation covering the event as a whole, contact the ufficio stampa of Fuorisalone.it, at the institutional address below. Hours: highly variable by venue, generally 10am-8pm during the day with numerous previews and parties in the late afternoon/evening (6-11pm); some hubs (Superstudio, Base Milano) stay open later on weekdays. Key districts: Brera Design District (historic centre, galleries and boutiques), Tortona (Superstudio Più, large-scale installations by tech and furniture brands), 5vie (small courtyards and workshops), Isola and Porta Venezia (emerging design). Not to be confused with the Salone del Mobile, the paid trade fair held in parallel at Fiera di Rho Pero, accessible by ticket via salonemilano.it, the Fuorisalone, by contrast, unfolds across the whole city and remains free.
The turnkey stay
For the Fuorisalone, one settles in the heart of Brera to fan out on foot toward the district's previews before heading to Tortona by Vespa or a borrowed Maserati. The ritual: breakfast beneath the mosaics of the Bulgari Hotel, a design business lunch at Cracco under the Galleria's glass roof, then a late evening moving between gallery and club at 10 Corso Como. Milan during Design Week lives as much by night as by day: the best tables are booked before the fair's official opening.
Where to stay
- Bulgari Hotel Milano : An 18th-century palazzo with a 4,000 sqm private garden, right in Brera between Via Montenapoleone and the Accademia, the most central address for reaching the Design District's installations on foot.
- Portrait Milano : A former archiepiscopal seminary converted by the Lungarno Collection (the Ferragamo family), in the heart of the fashion district, a few minutes from Brera, 73 rooms around an interior piazza animated by food and lifestyle addresses.
Where to dine
- Ristorante Cracco : Carlo Cracco's starred restaurant beneath the historic glass roof of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, an unobstructed view of the Duomo, a classic venue for business evenings during Design Week.
What to experience
- 10 Corso Como : A concept store, gallery, café and club founded by Carla Sozzani in Porta Garibaldi: the historic address where fashion, design and nightlife meet during the Fuorisalone, late into the evening.
- Superstudio Più (Tortona) : The major hub of the Tortona district during the Fuorisalone: monumental installations by international brands (furniture, tech, automotive) and launch parties in converted former industrial spaces.
