The 80th edition will be held from May 11 to 22, 2027; registration opens around early February on festival-cannes.com for film professionals and press, with proof of professional activity (in 2026: from February 2 to April 15, a surcharge of €224 including tax after April 1, and an environmental contribution of €20 excluding tax). Three doors exist for everyone else. The 3 Days in Cannes program, free upon application, is for ages 18 to 28. Cannes Cinéphiles reserves around 3,000 free accreditations each year for active film lovers, film students, and school groups, with access to screenings from the Official Selection, Critics' Week (Semaine de la Critique), and the Directors' Fortnight (Quinzaine des Cinéastes); applications go through the online accreditation portal, with the 2027 calendar not yet published. Finally, the Cinéma de la Plage offers open-air screenings every evening of the Festival, free and without accreditation. One trap to anticipate: accommodation, to be booked 6 to 12 months ahead, as Croisette hotel rates multiply by 3 to 5 during the Festival's 12 days.
